We are delighted to announce that Alison Davies, one of our inspirational and dedicated supporters, recently took part in the 22 mile Exe to Axe race, running from Exmouth to Seaton, raising a grand total of £1033.16 for The Project!
Alison had planned to run the 20 mile Grizzly race but due to severe weather conditions, the full event was cancelled. Not one to be disheartened, Alison took part in the shorter, 10 mile Cub event and then immediately set her sights on the Exe to Axe race, spurred on by the generous donations she had already received leading up to the Grizzly event.
Having completed the event, Alison said; “The Exe to Axe was the most mentally and physically challenging thing I’ve done so far and it took me through a whole range of emotions! It’s been a real pleasure raising money for The Project, people really responded positively to the fact that this charity was so local and to the age group it assists.”
We are extremely proud and inspired by what Alison has achieved, not only in her quest to raise awareness of The Project, but also in raising a considerable amount of money that will be used to support young people within the local community who are experiencing mental health issues.
On behalf of everyone who comes to and is involved in The Project, we would like to say a huge thank you to Alison for her determination and strength in reaching her goal. Well done Alison! 😊
