We had some very welcome visitors to The Project’s office last week — Freya Morgan and Holly Smith delivered £570 raised through their concert, Music from the Movies.
Debbie and I (Hayley) both attended the concert, which took place in Uplyme Church on Saturday 7th October, and were extremely impressed with Holly and Freya’s talent. They performed a variety of works from stage and screen, including songs from Les Miserables, My Fair Lady and Frozen. We couldn’t believe it was their first recital, considering the poise and confidence they brought to the performance!
At the concert, Freya said that The Project was a cause close to her heart, which was one of the reasons she and Holly chose to support us. They recognise that mental health issues can — and do — affect anyone, so are keen to help young people who may have no other source of support.
It’s unusual to come across opera singers who have such strong voices at a young age (Freya is 15 and Holly 14), so please take any opportunity you get to hear them sing. The video we have shared on Facebook is fantastic, but doesn’t do justice to how wonderful Holly and Freya sound singing live.
Everyone at The Project is very grateful to Freya and Holly for choosing to raise money for us. Everything we raise enables us to help more young people.
If you would like to support The Project, we are trying to establish a fundraising committee to organise events and coordinate with independent groups and individuals who fundraise for us. We need people with a variety of skills, so please email firstname.lastname@example.org to register your interest and we will notify you of developments.
