This summer, The Project is hosting an art exhibition to raise awareness of mental illness!
Thursday 29 June – Sunday 2 July 2017
Pippins Community Centre, Axminster
It’s not always easy (or possible) to put your feelings into words.
I, like a lot of people, find it much easier to express my mental illness and how I’m feeling through painting, drawing (even just colouring in sometimes) or being creative in general!
That’s why I’m putting together “This is my Mental Illness” Art Exhibition
I’d love as many people as possible to submit pieces of their artwork (whatever form that comes in) that describes your experiences of mental illness – this could represent your own personal experience or your experiences of caring for someone with mental illness.
This could be in any way you choose, painting, poetry, sculpture, digital, you name it…
Exhibits can be displayed anonymously or with your name. You may also choose to include a description of some sort, be it a piece of writing or just a title. However this is entirely up to you.
It is really important to stress, this is not a competition and art work is not going to be judged.
There is no right or wrong as this is YOUR experience.
The purpose of this is to bring mental illness to life and enable people to see it from another perspective – images can be very emotive and can speak volumes over words.
IMPORTANT: In order to plan for the exhibition we need to have some idea of how many exhibits we are going to have, so please complete an ENTRY FORM.
