Requirements of a Production

for students and young people

The Project  can offer a range of mental health workshops which can be delivered to small groups of students, or to a whole year group, as part of a school’s PSHE curriculum. Our workshops provide an interactive and engaging experience for students, and feedback from our workshops, from both staff and students, has been extremely positive.

With 9 in 10 young people with mental health issues experiencing stigma and discrimination, it is clear that young people themselves need to have a better understanding of the issues, to break down the fears and misunderstandings surrounding mental illness, and which can often prevent young people from seeking appropriate help.

Expected outcomes for young people from our workshops include:

  • to have a better understanding and awareness of mental illness
  • to understand the difference between mental health and mental illness
  • to know how to look after their mental health and improve their emotional resilience
  • to know when and where to seek help if they have a problem
  • to know how to support friends and family affected by mental health issues

Workshops currently available include:

Mental Health Awareness  – a general introduction to mental health, to improve awareness and understanding, and challenge attitudes to mental illness

Taking the Mystery out of Mental Illness  – a general introduction to a range of mental health issues affecting young people

We can also offer workshops on specific mental health issues, eg. self harm, body image, eating disorders.

Currently our workshops are aimed at secondary school students, but we hope to develop mental health workshops for primary school pupils.  We are also working to increase the range of workshops we can offer to schools and communities.  If you have any suggestions for workshops, or you would like to discuss your school or organisation’s needs, then please get in touch.

Please note that, where possible, we do charge for delivery of our workshops, but as every school has different requirements, ranging from a one-off workshop to a full PSHE day, we prefer to quote according to your needs.  Please Contact Us for more information.

All profits from our training goes towards the running of our Support Groups for young people affected by mental health issues.  Booking your training through us helps to ensure we can continue this service, so thank you in advance.
